옛부터 동래 지방에는 멋과 풍류를 세월에 안을 많은 분들이 있어 왔던바, 이 분들의 투박한듯 한 춤사위와 동래 특유의 덧배기 사위들이 조화로운 형태로 변모되어 오면서 오늘날의 한량춤의 모태가 되었다.
